The Integrated Hub for BRICS Innovation Collaboration on ICT and HPC

The world in the 21st century has rapidly become connected as never before, via transportation, migration, economic integration, social networking, and so on. The increasing connectivity of the world leads to an increasing complexity. On the one hand, the social and economic evolution of the world becomes much more unpredictable and less manageable. On the other hand, the applications of high-performance computing, artificial intelligence and big data are fertilizing a new industrial revolution. This presents tremendous opportunities for the academic and industrial communities to solve global challenges and to jointly build a community of common destiny for all mankind.

The Integrated Hub for BRICS Innovation Collaboration on ICT and HPC is sponsored by Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of the People’s Republic of China and Guangzhou University, in response to a major outcome of Durban Declaration from the 6th BRICS Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Ministerial Meeting in July, 2018. It is devoted to support the implementation of the BRICS STI Framework Programme, to accelerate advancement of knowledge and innovation on ICT and HPC by hosting exchanges of BRICS researchers, to support BRICS jointly funded research projects for addressing Grand Challenge Problems by providing required ICT infrastructure, to promote entrepreneurship, to enhance networking of technology start-ups and multi-stakeholders, and beyond.
